| Description | Photograph of Kshitish Chandra Basu '15 SM '16 from the 1916 MIT Technique (yearbook). Basu had already earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Presidency College, Calcutta by the time he arrived at MIT. While at the institute, he was an outspoken critic of India’s caste system, which he believed hindered the country’s success in the industrial sector. After graduating, he returned to his hometown, Howrah, where he worked as an Engineer, Surveyor, and Valuer. |
