Popatlal M. Patel
Professor Popatlal M. Patel became the first South Asian faculty at the School of Science when he was appointed Assistant Professor of Physics in 1965. Born in Nairobi in 1933, he came to MIT as a Research Associate in 1962, and joined McGill University after leaving MIT. Professor Patel collaborated widely as an experimental physicist throughout his long academic career.
